Quebec is an outdoorsman's paradise, and
has a rich angling history. All one has to do to imagine Quebec's fishing
opportunities is to pull out a map of Canada, and stare in awe at a province
that runs 2000km,from it's most northern reaches, to the south of the
province.
The waters of Quebec's are home to pickerel, perch and pike, along
with speckled trout, lake trout and Atlantic salmon. In the North of the
province, lives the aesthetically pleasing Artic Char.
The majority of visiting angler travel to Quebec to pursue the
Atlantic Salmon on the fly. The Atlantic Salmon, like the steelhead, has
developed a cult like following, for good reason. In its prime the Atlantic can
achieve weights over 45 pounds.
The clear flows of the rivers of Quebec's Gaspe Peninsula
offer unparalleled fishing for Atlantics. Rivers such as the Matapedia, Grand
Cascapedia, York and Dartmouth draw anglers from around the globe. Depending on
the water system fishing can be excellent from June through September .
