Green Peter Reservoir is located in Linn County Oregon. A 30 mile drive from my hometown of Lebanon makes this pleasant lake a near weekly visit during the hot summer months. Surface water temperatures reach the low 70's which help make this lake an excellent place to cool off after a hard mornings fishing. The fish usually run a little on the small side. Some years they will average only 10 1/2 inches long and other years like 1995 and 1994 the average was closer to 11 1/2 inches with most fish being at least that size and some an inch bigger. By the end of the summer in 1995 it wasn't unusual to limit out with nice fat Kokes all of which were eleven inches and larger.

A click on the map will bring up a closer map of Green Peter with my favorite trolling areas. Early in the year around June I seem to do best in the lower end of the lake by the dam. Jigging can be red hot in the area that used to have the logs just up from the dam.  Currently there are manmade tubes in the log place where the logs used to be. Then as the season progresses I favor #4 the point by the Island. Some years trolling right under "Fisherman's Bridge" #6 is the hot ticket. Usually around 10:00am. the wind picks up and blows from the direction of the dam. The trolling lanes shown on the map all reflect the direction from which the wind blows.

Due to drought conditions and efforts to save native fish the reservoir levels may be low during summer.  Here is a link to information that will give you an idea as to the condition of the thistle Creek boat ramp.
Here's another link to reservoir height information.
