Went to Billy Chinook on 06-02-01, and fished the Metolious arm. Best action occurred at Chinook Island. The bite really started happening at 10:50 AM, and was solid until 2:00 PM. Landed a total of 17 Kokes, and lost another 20 to 25. Trolling nickel plated Ford Fenders with With red wedding ring spinners. Tipped with three pieces of white corn. Regular corn was outperforming Anise corn. The fish are really starting to become active. Boats were catching fish everywhere. Only bad part of the day was the wind was real heavy.

Went back to Lake Billy Chinook, May 3 to May 6. The weather was really good, but the wind came up Friday and Saturday afternoon making fishing difficult, in fact I didn't fish during that time. Fishing was fair, I did finally find the fish Friday afternoon and they were still there Saturday. I mostly trolled about 36' using wedding ring with white corn. I tried jigging, but no luck. The fish are running from 11" to 13" with most in the 12" to 12 1/2"
range.

As a side note I heard that the forest service opened up Princess Creek and Sunset Cove on Saturday.

Went to Billy Chinook last weekend, the road in from Indian Ford was a little rough, especially the last ten miles. The road was wet, no dust! Had a little problem just before getting to the main road to the lake, it just rained and
the road was muddy and slick. Had to test the antilock brakes on the last down hill section. The fishing was fair, every method worked, trolling, jigging. The fish size is good this year, 11" to 12 1/2".
